Rosemary Nivar -- Post 3

The slave trail hit me hardest. I can't believe that not even at the second mile I was already worn out all while having sneakers on, bug spray and having some water while the enslaved Africans had none of this and trekked for much longer and at night with many more obstacles. Overall, this trip had taught me so much. And I believe if many more people were able to have the opportunity to visit museums, take tours and really get "drunk" on the area and history, more people would understand the Black Lives Matter Movement and how still today we have a long way to go. But at least, I got to experience all this and will not let this knowledge go to waste. Along with my fellow Bonners, who already found a spark and desire to continue these conversations and exchange of ideas and knowledge, I too will push what I learned. Hopefully, I will be able to bring friends on a similar trip or family or really just anyone willing to learn more but cut off by opportunities or knowing where to start or go.
And shout out to my rising junior Bonner Class! I bonded with you guys more and I dunno I'm feeling pretty happy because of it :)
